Dr. Rosenthal is skilled in a wide variety of conventional and alternative therapies, and keeps up to date with alternative treatment approaches and modern techniques. He continues to treat clinically, and research, a number of areas of special interest and expertise.
“I studied psychiatry in ‘The Golden Age,’ where we learned both how to use medications and how to do psychotherapy. Since then, of course, all sorts of new therapies have come along, such as light therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), chronotherapy (manipulating circadian rhythms) and, most recently, meditation as therapy.”
Dr. Norman Rosenthal has maintained a private practice in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC for the past three decades. Although most of his patients come from the DC metropolitan area, including northern Virginia, he provides consultations and treatment to people in other parts of the country and internationally. Dr. Rosenthal’s general approach is to help his clients establish their goals and attain them, and feel better in the process. This results-oriented approach draws on a wide variety of treatment options, which are customized according to the client’s individual needs and preferences. He works with adults, adolescents, couples and families.
